
Day 1: Arrival Istanbul
Arrive in Istanbul, a stunning and enigmatic city nestled in Turkey's Marmara
region. Discover its breathtaking beauty, rich culture, vibrant lifestyle, and
the perfect blend of contrasts that make Istanbul truly unique. Upon arrival,
our local representative will warmly greet you and escort you to your hotel.
The rest of the evening is yours to leisurely explore the wonders of Istanbul.
Day 2: Istanbul
Join us on a sightseeing tour of a city uniquely spanning
two continents. Our journey begins with a visit to the Mosque of Suleyman the
Magnificent, the largest mosque in Istanbul. We will explore the city’s ancient
walls, the scenic Golden Horn, and the bustling fishing district, while also
marveling at the exterior of the iconic Hagia Sofia. Following this, we offer
an opportunity to tour the Topkapi Palace, the former administrative heart of
the Ottoman Empire, renowned for its grand courtyards and pavilions. As the
afternoon winds down, we will transfer to the vibrant Taksim neighborhood, the
city’s commercial and lively hub. You will have time to dine at one of its
numerous restaurants, take a ride on the historic tram, or visit the nearby
Galata Tower.
Day 3: Istanbul
Today's Highlights: Bosphorus Boat Tour.
Today, we will embark on a two-hour boat tour along the Bosphorus, exclusively
arranged for Europamundo travelers. The Bosphorus, a vital strait linking the
Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, divides Istanbul into its European and Asian
sides. As we cruise along, you’ll experience the vibrant activity of the
strait, with its numerous boats. We'll sail beneath the two iconic bridges that
connect Europe and Asia, while taking in views of the sultans' palaces,
traditional wooden houses, and Ottoman villas. After the tour, we'll return to
the heart of Istanbul, where you'll have free time to explore at your leisure.
Day 4: Kusadasi
We depart early from Istanbul to continue our journey
through Turkey. Around midday, we arrive in Ephesus, the best-preserved ancient
city in Asia Minor, which was once home to a quarter of a million people 2,000
years ago. Our visit includes Saint John’s Basilica, the House of the Virgin
Mary, and the impressive archaeological site (tickets included). From there, we
proceed to Kusadasi, a lively coastal town known for its vibrant atmosphere,
bustling commerce, and a charming small castle. Dinner and overnight stay are
provided.
Day 5: Marmaris
We set off to explore one of Turkey's natural wonders, Lake Bafa. Our journey then takes us to Bodrum, a stunning fortified city with Greek origins. Here, you can visit the historic castle, wander through its lively, bustling streets, or explore the vibrant sports marina. After lunch, we continue to Marmaris, another picturesque coastal destination, known for its castle, marina, and charming fountains.
Day 6: Antalya
We depart for Dalyan, a breathtaking destination along a
scenic navigable river. Here, we will embark on a two-hour boat ride to view
the magnificent Royal Lycian Tombs. Our journey continues by boat to a large
lake, where we will pause at the hot springs. You will have the option to swim
in the warm waters or indulge in a mud bath! Afterward, we will have time to
enjoy a meal at one of the riverside restaurants in Dalyan. Our journey then
takes us to Antalya, a vibrant coastal city with over a million residents.
During our brief visit, we will explore Hadrian’s Gate, the Ottoman district,
and the impressive waterfall that cascades directly into the sea.
Day 7: Nigde
We depart from Antalya and head towards Aspendos, where
we’ll visit the Roman theater, considered by many to be the best-preserved in
the world. Next, in Side, we’ll marvel at the seaside Greek Temple of Apollo.
There will be time to stroll through its lively port and bustling streets. As
we travel through stunning landscapes, we’ll cross the Taurus Mountains, with
peaks soaring over 3,500 meters and often snow-covered for much of the year.
We’ll make a stop in Karaman to view its fortress from the outside before
continuing our journey into the Cappadocia region, arriving in Nigde."
Day 8: Cappadocia
Enjoy a full day exploring the remarkable region of
Cappadocia, known for its otherworldly landscapes, ancient churches, and
troglodyte villages. Our day begins with a visit to Gümüşler, an astonishing
7th-century underground monastery, home to some of the finest Byzantine
frescoes in Turkey. Next, we’ll explore the underground city of Kaymakli, which
once housed up to 30,000 people. We’ll then visit Uçhisar, a natural fortress
offering stunning views. After lunch, we’ll explore the Göreme Valley, with its
open-air museum and rock-carved churches (admission included). We’ll stay
overnight in Avanos.
Day 9: Safranbolu
We have an amazing day ahead as we journey through the heart
of Anatolia, heading north where the landscapes become lush and green. In the
early afternoon, we’ll arrive in Safranbolu, a charming small city recognized
as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, once a key stop along ancient caravan routes.
We’ll enjoy a traditional Turkish tea in the courtyard of a beautifully
preserved old Caravanserai.
Day 10: Istanbul
Today, we travel along the Black Sea, surrounded by its lush
green landscapes. Our first stop is Gökgol Mağarası, where we’ve included
admission to this stunning cave, known for its underground river and vibrant
colors. In Ereğli, nestled by the Black Sea, we’ll have time for lunch and
visit the fascinating Cehenemagzi Caves and Tombs, rich with mythology. We’ll
arrive in Istanbul by the end of the day.
Day 11: Istanbul Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to Istanbul
Airport for your flight to your next destination via Istanbul
